I don’t know a single soul who doesn’t enjoy an aromatic warm apple pie especially in the winter. Everytime I make one, it’s gone within minutes hence I decided this classic deserves its place here. It only takes few minutes and simple ingredients to always impress your loved ones.
Let’s start from collecting Ingredients:
- 2 eggs
- 2 glasses of spelt flour (healthier version)
- 4 tbspn of sugar
- 1 tspn of baking powder
- 1/2 of unsalted butter
- Few drops of almond or vanilla essence
- 1 tspn of cinnamon
- Handful of blueberries
- Handful of almond flakes
- 4 or 5 big cooking apples (bramley or granny smith)
First of all we need to mix flour with butter an baking powder. The next step is to beat the egg yolks with sugar until smooth and add to the flour and butter mix. Work it with your hands until it apprars as firm dough and cut it in half.
Prepare your baking tray (cover it with a bit of butter to avoid sticking) and preheat the oven to 200 C. Roll one half of the dough and place it into the baking tray, than layer the filling and than grate the second half of the pastry on the top.
