Goodies from Queen Bees – my secret weapon against winter

IMG_0814 (2)

As much as I love winter, especially trips to the forest with my Dad, I am really scared of cold and flu. Using a public transport on daily basis makes me exposed to the virus and bacteria.
I am a massive believer of taking from nature what’s best for us. I always use natural remedies to boost my immune system and stay fit. Honey, lemon and ginger are must haves in my diet – better prevent than cure.

My colleague recently introduced to me other goodies from bees and having dome some research I decided to give them a go. My kit now includes: honey, bee pollen, propolis, pierzga (fermented bee pollen) and royal jelly. I do swear by these products and can not recommend them enough. I supplied my entire family and Mr K also lives on these. Those natural goodies boost immune system, energize and help fight number of diseases.

Majority of people know honey and its health properties. It can be added to the tea and also be used as a sugar substitute in baking and cooking. It is great as a face mask as well.

Bee pollen is collected by the bees from plant anthers and combined with nectar. It contains nutrients which allows human body to thrive. There are opinions that it is a natural allergy relief. Bee pollen is also known to reduce inflammation, act as antioxidant, boost immune system, support the body during diet as it contains proteins, lipids, flavonoids, minerals and my favorite A, E, D vitamins. It protects against liver toxicity (especially helpful for those who enjoys glass of wine here and there) and relieves menopausal and stress symptoms – regulates hormones.

My favorite way to use bee pollen is to add a 1 tea spoon of granules to Melisa tea in the evening also combine a spoon of honey as well as a dash of lemon. Mix well for the granules to dissolve and enjoy – great sleep guaranteed!

Please start with small doses if you are allergic to pollen and suffer from hay fever.

Fermented bee pollen – pierzga has even stronger health properties than bee pollen as it is mixed with honey and royal jelly during the fermentation process which starts in the flower! It contains plenty of macro and micro elements such as magnesium, zinc, iron, sodium and vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B6, B12, C, A, PP, K,E, H, D). Pierzga supports nervous system so it works well in treating depression and also regulates cholesterol.

I tend to eat a spoon of pierzga, which is already mixed with honey by beekeeper, in the morning and in the evening.

Propolis, which bees produce from combining a sap from a needle-leaved trees with their own discharges and beeswax, has again number of great health benefits. I use it to boost my immune system and kill all the bad bacteria. I also found it extremely effective on any dental issues inside your mouth or cold sores.

Royal Jelly is a food of a queen bee hence its name. It is a “superfood” full of vitamins, minerals and acids. Apart from similar properties to other bee goods royal jelly is a useful probiotic, increases collagen levels which improves the appearance of the skin hence is used widely in luxuries skincare ranges. It claims to boost male fertility and energy levels and also regulates blood pressure.

Recommended dosage is 1g per day for adults on empty stomach in the morning for 30 days period.

I am sold to these promises completely as bee goodies really work for me. I have been feeling a massive improvement in my health since I started adding these supplements to my diet few months ago.
